What is Ride as One
Ride as One is a week-long cycling challenge raising awareness of blood cancers in Australia and much needed funds for blood cancer patients’ services.
Ride as One aims to raise $180,000 to support families when they need it most, providing people with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma with a free home-away-from-home near hospital during their treatment. It will also support transport to appointments and provide as much practical assistance and emotional support for families affected, all free of charge.
Why support Ride as One
Sadly, today, 35 Australians will be given the devastating news that they have leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma, and they’ll turn to the Leukaemia Foundation for help. These blood cancers can develop in anyone, at any age, at any time. They can’t be prevented and while research has improved survival, blood cancer claims more lives than breast cancer or melanoma.
This April I will be heading to the island of Kyushu in Japan, where over 6 days I will cycle 800kms, through 7 cities, in a challenge to raise money for Australia’s fight against blood cancer.
Whether directly or not, we all know a family who has been affected by cancer. Not only does the Leukaemia Foundation invest its time to helping those patients, it also provides incredible emotional support to their loved ones. So by supporting my ride you will not only help me achieve my fundraising goal, but also help Leukaemia sufferers and their families around Australia.
I am hoping to raise $5500.00 so please, dig deep! Together we can achieve so much.
