Before becoming the newest member of the JAZ team, our web developer Brock worked in the music industry servicing some of Perth’s biggest international and local music shows.
Prior to that, Brock developed web applications and educational materials for the Australian Council for Educational Research in Melbourne, and the State Library of WA. His mother runs a high-school mathematics department and wanted him to follow in her footsteps as an educator, but Brock always felt much more at home behind the screen.
During his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, where he spent his time studying artificial intelligence, data analysis and distributed systems, Brock also completed a minor in Sound. Growing up, he played the clarinet, saxophone and bass guitar, intensively studied music theory, and was a state-level competitive ballroom dancer and instructor.
In his spare time, Brock builds open source code libraries (which has had hundreds of downloads since it was introduced), collects old-school vinyls and microphones, and browses the ‘technology’ section of Kickstarter.
